Young golfer preparing for significant competition

The rising star boasts impressive social media following

Kai Trump can count on multiple well-known cheerleaders as she starts her professional golf debut this Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who is related to a former US president, obtained a special exemption to compete at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.

The former president, an avid golfer, owns multiple international courses and frequently plays against Kai.

"He's pretty good. I can't reveal details but we play some close matches," she revealed.

Kai explained that Trump, who cannot attend, told her: "Just stay calm."

"My grandpa essentially advised me to compete and have fun," she added.

"To me, he's simply a regular grandfather. He can't make it this weekend. He's busy with world affairs, making him somewhat preoccupied."

Being non-professional, the golfer has competed in a mere three competitions in 2024 and maintains the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.

However she's able to seek guidance from golf legend, who is dating her mother.

"He is the best player in the world," Kai stated.

"Additionally, he's an even better human being. He suggested me to compete, have fun, following whatever happens."

She'll challenge some of top competitors in women's golf at the Annika, featuring world number two Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.

Officials commented that her participation brings golf to new audiences, particularly reaching younger fans.

The young star boasts a massive following and just introduced a personal apparel and wellness company.

The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
