Barcelona to Host First Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in La Liga over two years following their departure for construction to commence.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees can be present based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed finished work included a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.
Recent Activities
The club conducted an open training session at the Camp Nou on 7 November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body to host the next European match facing Eintracht in December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
